The UK's first EV-only trackday! - 18th August 2021
Venue - Llandow Circuit, Cowbridge, South Wales CF71 7PB
This is an exclusive event for EV owners to drive their vehicles on track. Llandow is perfect for all levels of driver and offers some technically challenging corners even though it's smaller than most other UK tracks. You've probably already seen it without knowing as it's been used for filming Top Gear, Fifth Gear, Love Cars and Chris Harris on Cars many times.
The number of cars on track at any one time will be very limited. We've invited Ed Moore and his team of driver coaches from Motorsport Events/Stay Sharp along. They will be on hand all day to give help and advice on and off track. This is the perfect chance to find out how your car performs on track in a relaxed atmosphere with like-minded EV owners. No earplugs required!
This is also the very first time a trackday has been organised exclusively for Electric Vehicles in the UK, so you'll be making history! We will only allow cars on circuit if they are using battery power, so Hybrids, PHEV and cars with range extenders will only be accepted if the ICE can be completely disabled while on track. This will probably exclude most, if not all non-BEVs, so please check before booking if your car is suitable.
We're limiting overall numbers to ensure everyone gets a lot of track time but also so we can tailor the day to suit beginners, intermediates and advanced drivers, depending on the mix.
General booking information
You can share a car but you need to add additional drivers to your booking. Spectators/passengers are welcome (passengers will need to pay a small charge which can be added to your booking o paid on the day), although we will have to abide by whatever Covid restrictions are in place at time of the event, so any limit on numbers will be confirmed just before the day. If you cancel your booking at least 1 week before the day, we will refund you less a £10 administration fee.
If you cancel within 72 hours of the event we can offer you a credit against a future trackday or a 50% refund.
No refunds can be given if you fail to attend or cancel on the day.
Passengers are allowed but the minimum age is 14 and height 1.5m.
Drivers must have a full driving licence and be physically fit.
All participants must wear a helmet and have their arms and legs covered while in the car.
Racing/timing/drifting/dangerous driving is expressly forbidden and driving standards will be very carefully observed throughout the day.
Please note that most road insurance policies will not cover you on a track driving event and we cannot be held responsible for any damage to your vehicle, however caused. You'll be asked to fill in and sign an indemnity form before you start the event to confirm you understand and accept this. If you need to cover all potential risks we recommend speaking to a specialist broker such as Moris.
You must wear a helmet at all times when driving on track. We can provide helmets to buy. Depending on Covid rules at the time of the event, we may be able to offer helmets to hire on the day. Further information about this will be emailed to you closer to the day.

The question I'm sure everyone has is "how many laps will I get from a full charge?". The answer depends on many variables such as your car's battery size and efficiency, how fast you drive, how much charge you arrive with etc. but a rough calculation based on a Tesla Model 3 Performance suggests around 50-60 laps.
Do I need special insurance? As stated above, you can get cover for trackdays but it is not a condition of booking the day.
Will I wear out my brakes and/or tyres? This entirely depends on how you drive on the day. If you're smooth and progressive with all your inputs and keep each session on track relatively short with a 'cool down' lap at the end, you and your car will be put under less stress and should last the day without any dramas.
